“Hey Margaux, do you know any nice romantic restaurant in Bordeaux? If possible not too expensive? You also told me about a great decoration shop in Bordeaux, which one was it ? Oh and the brunch you were talking about the other day, what was the cafe called ? Last thing, could you give me suggestions of visits and activities for a 3 days trip in Bordeaux? My friends are coming next month!”…
THAT IS HOW THE ADVENTURE STARTED !
I often get asked by people that I met abroad, family and even friends from Bordeaux about recommendations, what to do, where to go and what to eat, so I decided to share them here.
In love with Bordeaux, I want to help you discover its greatness, authenticity and give you the addresses you don’t wanna miss out on. From the best picnic spots in Bordeaux to great restaurants and shops, there will be something for everyone ! 🙂
I also share my favourite brands and concepts that I select for their authenticity and their know-how, which both mean quality to me!
Visiting Bordeaux ?
I do my best to help you to organise your stay and avoid all the “tourist-traps” that I know well 😉
In french please!
If you want to share the articles with your french friends or simply try to learn a bit of the language, the blog does also exist in french: you only need to click on the french flag on the Homepage.
About me ?
I am an all-rounder with a 1000 projects and curiosities.
At the end of my studies in International Business, I felt like I wanted to go and explore the world.
Driven by the longing of a “culture-shock”, I decided to step outside of my comfort zone. Goal achieved with a first one-year-stop in…China! I spent that year working as a product manager for a start-up company, studying mandarin & Chinese culture and travelling throughout the country.
After a year, I got an offer to stay at my job and work with communication but my travelling nerves started to itch again: I felt like I needed to move on to a new adventure.
Next stop: Australia !
During these two years, I lived in a van, worked as a full-time tractor driver, wrote a travel blog, got some serious kangaroos-rescueing skills, traveled thousands of kilometres, backpacked many countries around Australia and met hundreds of beautiful people who shared so much with me.
Today I am 27 and I am back in Bordeaux, launching this new project: ready to share Love from Bordeaux.
I hope that you will enjoy reading this blog as much as I enjoy writing it.
If you have any questions, offers, love notes, corrections (as English is not my mother tongue, there might be some mistakes..), feel free to contact me at lovefrombordeaux@gmail.com.
Love & canelés,
Margaux
